Alexicom Tech's AAC apps were developed using research on the importance of core words, motor planning, Brown's stages of language development, typical and delayed children's frequently used vocabulary, as well as feedback from users. Alexicom Tech's page sets include linked vocabulary organized by categories and language use, including core words so the AAC user can create novel sentences. Alexicom Tech's AAC apps provide not only a way to communicate but a system that teaches language acquisition as well! AAC Users & Parents
Today even more than ever, parents have so many choices and people sharing their opinions on how to help their children. Our best advice is "go with your gut." Parents are with their children all day and know best. As parents, the Alexicom Tech team's goal was to make an affordable yet robust AAC system that is easy to customize and navigate. Alexicom Tech's "Elements" AAC apps are broken in to age groups, vocabulary, and specific locations to keep our apps affordable. All of our apps include the ability to create your own pages, edit pages, picture acquisition, recordable voices, data tracking, and text-to-speech. In addition, each page includes so much vocabulary, with linked "core" word pages to help communication flow and expand. Just load the app or page set to begin modeling and communicating!
AAC in Schools &
in Hospitals
Providing communication for people in all environments is very important to Alexicom Tech. We believe EVERYONE should be heard EVERYWHERE. With specific AAC apps for schools, hospitals, and homes, every person of every age can express his/her wants, needs, opinions, and self-advocate. From being able to tell a teacher what you understood during a lesson in school to being able to tell your nurse you wish to see your family when in the hospital, Alexicom Tech's AAC apps can give you that voice.
Alexicom Tech's school apps were developed with core vocabulary research from Karen Erikson, student and teacher feedback from schools that specialize in working with students with autism, and subject/curriculum topics.
Alexicom Tech teamed up with ER's and ICU's in Arizona to create page sets to help provide communication to those who cannot express themselves while in the hospital.
